For many older users hearing aids are a necessary part of life. As we get older, our hearing deteriorates and we require aid to fill that gap. However, hearing aids don’t accommodate for older users when it comes to control. By creating a more accessible and more desirable personal sound amplification product, we believe we can address this untapped market. Ohm attempts to be a product that tackles the issues of poor user interaction on existing PSAPs and hearing aids, bringing this market into the current year by incorporating modern conveniences into our feature set, and transforming the PSAP into a lifestyle product that deters social stigma.
While this started out as a group project, I felt the need to push the design forward so I have redesigned all the aspects after the ideation stage. In the group setting, we contributed equally to the research, ideation and prototyping phases.
